CH. Ivy Hills Forget Me Not "Alana"

I am proud to say that Alana will be staying here with us. She has grown into a beautiful little girl! She reminds me of Gracie with her spark and enthusiasm. She also has a great coat that looks like her mothers, Maggie. She is the first Ivy Hills dog to be going to the show ring in the Bred By Exhibitor classes. I look forward to a great adventure with this little one!

Twelve weeks old.

Alana is officially a couch potato! She finally learned to jump up to lay with the big dogs.

Alana started her show career right on her six month birthday. The first day, everything was a bit overwhelming for her. She adjusted by the second day. By the last day of that show, she shined. She won the BBE class and went on to win Winners Bitch. Then in true fashion she went on to win Best of Winners and Best of Opposite Sex over four bitch specials including her sister Gracie and a female that is ranked in the top of Havanese! I knew she was special but WOW. I look forward to her championship coming quickly.

Here are a few pictures taken at Alana's first show. Her movement is exquisite.

Alana's first major picture. She won Winners bitch, Best of Winners and Best of Opposite sex over one of the top ranked Havanese.

Alana is on a roll! Her second weekend out, she won again. This time in Delaware, Ohio. She won Winners bitch, Best of Winners and Best BBE Havanese! We then went on to the BBE toy group and took a Group 3! She now has both of her majors and is almost half way to her championship. What a way to start with your first Bred by puppy.
I love this little girl! On our fourth weekend out at the Cleveland Classic, Alana took Reserve Winners Bitch and Best of Breed Bred by Exhibitor. We then went on to a BBE toy group fourth. It was a great win over the other breeds. Then on Sunday, Alana won Winners Bitch, Best of Winners and Best of Opposite sex for another major. She is now up to 10 points with only five single points to go to her Championship.

Alana has proven herself to be a wonderful show dog. After the Cleveland show, we took some time off because of the Holidays. Her first show back was the Indy Classic on February 12. The first day, she took Winners Bitch, Best of Winners and Best of Opposite sex. The next day was Friday the 13th. It proved to be a great day. Alana won Winners Bitch and Best of Opposite sex for the major that finished her AKC Championship! A special "Thank you" to all our friends who stood on the sidelines cheering us on! She will start her Special career this summer.

Alana's special career started earlier than I thought. Her coat came in quickly so she was ready to start showing quicker than what I was planning. Her first weekend out was during the weekend of April 19 & 20 in Columbus, Ohio. There were five specials being shown there including her with a decent turnout for the class dogs. She won Best of Breed both days! She won over some nice dogs and it was thrilling to make it to the toy group competition. Hopefully this is a sign of things yet to come! GO ALANA!!!!

Alana has now moved on to a new career working with people affected by dementia. I am so proud that she is bringing hope and love to many. Her partner in her new life is Suzan who works with the Circle of Friends organization. Thanks Suzan for loving Alana!
